TRACE operatives rescues 36-year-old-man jumped into river for suicide mission

A 36-year-old man who simply identified as Fatal Oyedele, today around 1:15pm, rescued and taken to Adigbe Police Station after he failed his suicide mission in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.


The Information Carrier, gathered that the father of five and clothes merchant, residing at Tourists Estate, Obere Atan-Ota in Ado-Odo Local Government Area of the state, was rescued by Operatives of Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) after honourably jumped into Ogun river from the top of the bridge.
It was further learnt that the TRACE operatives who controlled traffic at the end of the bridge quickly rushed to the river with the assistance of residents, dragged him to the shore and later handed over him to police for further investigastion to know reason why he decided to kill himself.
A bottle of poinsonous snipper liquid, it was further learnt found tightly holding by the suicide attempted man which he intended to drink in case jumping into the river failed to achieve his objective.
The TRACE Corps Commander/CEO 'Seni Ogunyemi, while confirming the ugly incident said: "We thank God our operatives were able to rescue the man from committing suicide. This is due to proper training we give them. We have the onerous task of saving lives that are in danger of any kind on the roads.
"Our operatives are sensitive to every movement on the roads as they control traffic flow. This is our constant training."
