Ogun FRSC charges personnel on dedicated, abstain from corruption practices

The Ogun State Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ahmed Umar, has charged the Corps personnel attached to the state to be more discipline, dedicated and committed to service.



He urged them to abstain from all forms of acts that could tarnish the integrity and reputations of the Corps.
He stressed that FRSC have zero tolerance for indiscipline, insuburdination, bribery, extortion or corruption practices.
The New Sector Commander, who assumed office on Thursday, June 11, revealed this during his familiarisation visit to Ota Unit Command.
He said FRSC could never encourage any indiscipline, inefficient and corruption practices, even if every other agencies or individuals are doing it. "For the fact that others are doing it does not mean FRSC personnel should do the same.
"The FRSC management cannot afford any act that will Tanish the integrity of the Corps. Every staff are are expected to sustain the tempo and improve on the level of their performances.
"FRSC as a reputable organisation has been making all frantic efforts to ensure corruption and extortion does not exist in the agency.
Corps Commander Umar, commended the staff for their efforts in ensuring safety and compliance to traffic rules and regulations on the roads.
He Implored them to continue putting in their best in accordance with the ethics of the profession for the agency to continue recording landmark achievement in reducing road traffic crashes to the minimum level.
The FRSC Chief enjoined staff to report whatever might be their challenges to appropriate channel, saying this is why every Command has Unit Commander.
He appealed to all road users to always be patient while on the road, adding that all vehicles are expected to have functioning wiper, hazard light, head lights, best tyres and brakes especially on this raining season.
He said the present condition of the road in couple with flood when its rain makes the road more more worst. He noted that only embarking on defense driving culture and maximum patient could only guaranteed safety while on the wheel.
Corps Commander Umar, said his administration will focus more on rubust public enlightenment campaign with strict enforcement, leverages on synergies with other safety and security agencies including transport stakeholders would further yeild best result in reduction of road traffic crashes in Ogun State.
He commended Special Marshals for rendenring maximum support to the Regular Marshals in the course of making highway safe for the users.
In his welcome address, the Ota Unit Commander, Ganiyu Akeem, assure the Sector Commander that both him and every personnel in the Command would continue to work in accordance with the agency's rules and regulations to enable it achieve more in the fight against menance causing traffic crashes.
The Unit Commander also appealed to the sector Commander to speedy worked on some of the challenges confronting the Unit Command.
