Operatives of Ogun state police command had arrested two robbery suspects on their way to robbery operation along Awa ijebu/ Ijebu ode express way.
The suspects, Odukoya Ayomide m' 32yrs and. Abiodun Oyenuga m' 32yrs were accosted on the express way on the 25th of August 2020 when the DPO Awa ijebu CSP Adewalehinmi Joseph were on routine patrol of the area.
The suspects who are on motorcycle quickly jumped down on sighting the policemen and took to their heels.
They were hotly chased and one of them Odukoya Ayomide was apprehended with a locally made cut to size double barrel gun while the second suspect escaped through the nearby bush.
The arrested suspect informed the police on interogation that his fleeing partner was the person who invited him from Ijebu ode for robbery operation and that they were just going to carry out the operation when they were accosted by the police.
The useful information obtained from the arrested suspect led the police to Shagamu where Abiodun Oyenuga his fleeing partner was arrested on the 28th August 2020.
Meanwhile, the commissioner of police CP Edward A Ajogun has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to special anti robbery squads (SARS) for discreet investigation. The CP therefore warned those who are criminally minded to leave the state as the command will make it too hot for them under his watch.
