The Excel College three-storey building has been reportedly collapsed in Ejigbo, Lagos State.
The sad incident occurred at Number 15, Ansarudeen Street, Iyana Ejigbo bus stop, at about 8.15 am.
Perhaps, there are no reports of casualties recorded as students were still in compulsory holiday as a result of COVID 19.
The privately-owned building, according to eyewitness, belonged to school had previously shown signs of crack, distress and the school was planning to renovate/refortify the structure before the collapse.
INFORMATION CARRIER gathered that the building had two wings conjoined and one of the wing's cracks can be seen on the walls, pillars and decking.
The Director-General, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency LASEMA, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu confirmed the development saying rescuers to the ugly incident scene were LASEMA, Police (Ejigbo Division) and other emergency agencies.
As at the time of filing this report, plans were on to ensure the safety of students in preparation for reopening of schools on Monday.
