The Orile Iganmu Division of Lagos Command of the Nigeria Police Force, yesterday, Monday, September 14, 2020, arrested 17 armed teenagers, who specialised in attacking, harassing and dispossessing members of the public of their belongings around Amosun, Zion, Mosalasi and Ikale Street in Sasi Iganmu Area of Lagos State.
According to a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, a Superintendent of Police, the suspected hoodlums who are teenagers, were arrested with dangerous weapons. He gave their names as:

Ayinla Teslimi ‘m’ Age 18
Ayantunja Daniel ‘m’ Age 17
Prince Ogungbemi ‘m’ Age 17
Open Semiu ‘m’ Age 18

Toheeb Lamidi ‘m’ Age 15
Isreal Iyiyemi ‘m’ Age 14

Adejobi explained that, though the hoodlums are yet to be linked to any existing cult groups, it has been established that they belong to various factions that foment troubles, involved in crimes and social vices.
“Based on preliminary findings by the police, the hoodlums have not been linked to any of the existing cult groups in Lagos, but have various factions that foment troubles, engage in crimes, social vices and free for all in the areas”
Adejobi further stated that the Commissioner of Police in the State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, “while reaffirming his zero tolerance for cultism and other social vices, ordered the suspects to be profiled, investigated and charged to court without any delay in order to nip their criminal potentials and tendencies in the bud”.
CP Odumosu, Adejobi said, “further assured the general public of the zeal of the Police under the amiable leadership and in line with the ideological perspectives of the Inspector-General of Police, to adopt modern and effective anti-crime strategies to provide adequate security for all and sundry in Nigeria, particularly, in Lagos State”.
