By JOSEPH TREASURE --- People of Ilupeju Ekiti in Oye Local Government have were yet to recover from shock and mourning following the heavy rain that wrecked havoc in the community yesterday evening.
INFORMATION CARRIER gathered that the downpour which was accompanied with heavy storm led to the death of one person while many others sustained various degree of Injuries
More than twenty houses, it was learnt were badly destroyed by the disaster.
Narrating their ordeal, some members of the community explained that the deceased was hit by a brick in a white garment church after the roof of the church was carted away during a programme.
Similar cases were also recorded in some quarters but the victims who sustained injuries were said to be receiving treatment in different hospitals.
Meanwhile the chairman of Oye Local Government, Mr Foluso Ojo has gone round the community to observe the level of damages done by the disaster.
Speaking with Journalists, Mr Ojo sympathized with the victims, describing the disaster as very unfortunate.
He promised to report the incident to Governor Kayode Fayemi and necessary authority for immediate action.
