Commissioner makes case for traddlional rulers

The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Afolabi Afuape, has said the importance and contributions of traditional councils in the development of any state can not be over emphasised, saying they are cosest to the people of any community. 
Afuape, disclosed this while paying courtesy visit to the paramount ruler of Egba land, Alake of Egba, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo in his palace, noted that no matter how good any state government program, it would not amount to anything until people at the grassroots feel its impact, benefiting from it.
The Commissioner, said though the Obas are not to be involved in any political affairs, yet they are the eyes and ears of any government that is bound to succeed in any state. 
He said, he would be operating an open door policy, as his office would be opened to advice from them from time to time, adding that with their advice and prayers the ministry would not be overwhelm by challenges that may arise any time.
“I assure you that I will operate open door policy, where all your advices are welcomed anytime. I know with your prayers and advices, we will succeed.”Afuape said.
In his remarks, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, appreciated the commissioner for the visit, he enjoined him to be sincere in all his conducts amidst traditional rulers.
Oba Gbadebo, called on community leaders to come together and come up with ideas bring that could hasten development in their various communities rather than displaying attitudes that could undermine the development of their areas.
The Commissioner was prayed for by both Oba Gbadebo and the General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye for a successful tenure in office.
