The Zonal Commanding Officer FRSC Zone 2 Headquarters Lagos ACM Imoh J Etuk, who disclosed this, said: "It is another festive season again, with the gradual easing of lockdown and lifting of restrictions on interstate movement, traffic volume is expected to rise, heavy traffic congestion and act of lawlessness by motorists.
"To curtail these tendencies and ensure that all road users enjoy a free flow of traffic during the period, FRSC sets to deployed its personnel and will definitely be visible in all critical corridors within the Zone.
He urged all road users to avoid all traffic violations and offences as anyone apprehended will face the penalty.
He also enjoins the general public to join hands with the Corps to have a safe motoring environment during this period.
The Zonal Commanding Officer drew the attention of the motoring public that the 3rd Mainland Bridge will not at any point be closed or shutdown during the sallah period as earlier its closure from 24th of July, 2020 to 24th of January 2021, pronounced by the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, just to ease traffic gridlocks during the festive period.
He said the repair will just be between Adeniji Adele - Adekunle and diversion will only be at construction point, between 12 midnight and 12 noon movement inward Island is normal.
He noted that those coming from island to mainland between 12 midnight and 12noon would have to use alternative routes such as Carter Bridge, Eko Bridge, Funso Williams to Ikorodu road.
Afternoon: Those coming back from island to mainland between 12 noon and 12 midnight will divert from Adeniji and face mainland inward Island. They will later be diverted back to the mainland (ie) island - mainland to avoid the construction site.
He sought full cooperation of the motorists to enable the road free from crashes during the sallah period and beyond, while urging FRSC Operatives that would deployed to ease traffic gridlock during the period to be civil in the discharge of their duties.
