The Ogun State local hunters, early morning of Sunday, October 4, 2020 arrested two suspected teenage robbers who are specialised in snatching motorcycles popularly known as 'okada' at gun point.
Acting on different petitions from the residents of Oju-Ore Ota community, which fall under the jurisdiction of Oruba Quarters about the nefarious activities of some bad boys in the area.
The Oloruba of Oruba kingdom, Oba Wadudu Ajani Deinde, earlier deployed local hunters to Oju-Ore Ota axis, suburb of the state, to compliment the activities of other security agencies to curb the menace of thugs who have been terrorising the area recently.
Effort of the local hunters, however, paid off this morning when they accosted two teenagers on two different motorcycle at the popular Oju- Ore roundabout.
On sighting the hunters, the robbers engaged them in a gun duel which lasted for about 20 minutes but were overpowered by the local hunters.
Confirming the incident In a phone interview, Oba Deinde said the two motorcycles believed to have been snatched at gun point and locally made pistols were recovered from the suspects. During interrogation, the suspects confessed committing the crime.
They explained that once they are successful in snatching a motorcycle, the buyer is already waiting to take the delivery of such stolen motorcycles.
The suspects also placed a call to one of the buyers not knowing that the game is up on phone said, he was already expecting the motorcycles.
The two suspects have now been handed over to Obasanjo Divisional Police Headquarters Ota, for further investigation.
