Two passengers in a commercial tricycle popularly known as 'Keke Marwa' were crushed to death late Friday, 9 October, 2020 at Mechanic bus stop along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.
An eyewitnesses told journalists that the truck driver was trying to negotiate the bad portion of the road at Mechanic bus stop, Okokomaiko while trying to do a u-turn when it fell on a commercial tricycle killing the two passengers instantly.
The third person, identified as the operator of the tricycle had his two legs crushed. He was rushed to a hospital in the area while the corpses of the deceased have been deposited at the mortuary.
Many road users lamented that there are some miscreants who have adopted the habit of digging holes on the road.
“Unsuspecting motorists usually fall into these artificial potholes which give the miscreants the opportunity to attack motorists and passengers especially at night,” a road user, said.
According to our correspondent’s investigation, it was one of the artifical potholes the truck fell into while trying to negotiate the road which led to the auto crash.
