Ogun State Government urges residents to pay tax

The Ogun State Government have urged residents to pay taxes and other acrued rates as at when due.


The Agbado Tax Office Manager, Mr Sunday Akinwande made the plea at the end of year party/new year prayer session, organised by Ifo Unit Command of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Agbado.
He said prompt payments of taxes would enable the government to provide adequate amenities for the inhabitants and dividends of democracy gets to the people.
According to Mr Akinwande, it is the responsibility of every residents to contribute their quotas to the development of the state through ensuring taxes and other goverment acrued rates are paid promptly, noting that it will enable goverment improve the welfare of the inhabitants.
Speaking at the prayer session, the Ifo Unit Commander, Joshua Ibitomi, said the programme was organised to thank God for His maximum security and protections over all personnel attached to the Command and the Commission as a whole.
He thanked God for always avert any mishap that could have befallen every personnel including their families. He added that the Command throughout the year didn't record any casualty either by accident or ailment.
The Unit Commander, on behalf of the newly promoted personnel in the Command thanked God and FRSC for the promotions, urging those that are yet to be promoted not to relent from putting their best in the job to enable the Corps achieve its goal. Promotion comes from God, he added.
The programme featured singing, dancing wine/dine and presentation of awards to both Regular and Special Marshals who have efficiently discharged FRSC job without tired, and to all stakeholders who have contributed their quotas to the development of the Command.
Among the awardees were: The Unit Commander; Ogun State Coordinator, Special Marshals, Elder Emmanuel Fagbenro; the Command Head of Operations, Assistant Corps Commander Bridget Njoku; Chief Ola Fagbohunka (JP) and many others.
The Agbado Unit Commander, Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Patrick Owoade sought for more cooperation of all road users especially the motorists to enable the state roads free from traffic crashes.
He said all road users are expected to strictly obey traffic rules and regulations that guaranteed safety of lives and properties on the road. 
Commander Owoade, expressed worries as motorists believed road traffic managers are their enemies, urging them to eschew the motive, thinking and believing, saying they are on the road to protect user from crashes through the enforcement of traffic rules.
