The Itori Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Assistant Corps Commander Sunday Oko, has commended Lafarge Cement Company for beginning the rehabilitation works at Papa-Ewekoro-Itori Area, along Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, Ogun State.
Commander Oko, made the commendation in an interview with journalists on traffic situations within that corridor.
According to Commander Oko, the rehabilitation would help to reduce discomfort experienced by motorists.
He said the palliative works which started on Friday, July 3, would take three days for the job to be completed.
“FRSC commends the management of the Lafarge Company for repairing the deplorable road.
"Vehicular movement and traffic gridlock has increased due to the ongoing works and lifting of interstate travel ban."
He cautioned motorists against reckless and dangerous driving around the axis.
The unit commander said the ongoing palliative works had made traffic to be diverted to the other side of the road.
Oko cautioned motorists against speeding and wrongful overtaking to prevent collision with oncoming vehicles
He said the command would increase its patrol along this axis to control traffic and check excesses of drivers on the road.
Oko implored motorists to obey FRSC personnel and other sister agencies that would be on ground to ensure sanity so as to avoid unnecessary loss of lives.
