By OLALEKAN AYENI --- The Ojora of Ojora and Orile Iganmu Kingdom, HRH Oba Abdulfatai Aremu Oyeyinka Aromire Ojora, has seeks for provision of constitutional roles to traditional rulers in the country.
The Kabiyesi attributed the increase in insecurity, crime and other social norms in the society to the marginalisation of traditional rulers roles in government.
Oba Ojora spoke at the 21st anniversary of his Royal Annual Thanksgiving Service, Tagged: 'Praise the Lord" organised by Royal Circle Connect in Conjunction with Ijora Chapter of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) at his Palace.
He donated a Toyota Sienna bus and cash of N2 million to appreciate God for His faithfulness, kindness and peaceful coexistence in his domain and Lagos at large.

No stranger can understand a particular domain better than the indigenes led by the traditional ruler, he added.
He lamented as traditional rulers regarded as the closest to the grassroots, are not always represented at critical and crucial security meetings at both State and Federal levels.
Kabiyesi Ojora emphasised that traditional rulers are always the first point of contact in cases of kidnapping, rape, theft and other acts in the communities, noting giving the constitutional roles would assist traditional rulers with wide powers to adjudicate on some civil matters.
According to the royal father, "traditional institutions have come of age and should have statutory roles to complement government in tackling insecurity and other socio-economic challenges.
"The development would assist to fast track the desired transformation, especially in remote villages and communities and such constitutional responsibility was informed by recent security developments in the country."
The monarch, therefore, expressed the need for the review of the nation’s constitution to accommodate the required legal framework in giving them such responsibility.
