BY OLALEKAN AYENI: The Onilogbo of Ilogbo-Asowo, Oba Samuel Olufemi Ojugbele has issued a serious warning to Mr Olayiwola Balogun to desist from parading himself as the Chief Imam of Ilogbo-Asowo or ready to face the wrath of law.
The Kabiyesi said Mr Balogun sought assistance of non-indigenes of the community neither nor from Aworiland to installed himself as the Chief Imam without the knowledge, permission or support of any traditional councils in the community.
He said: "Mr Balogun who is a member of Edun Oyeshiku family of Iga Onilogbo Compound was not the choice candidate of the whole family to fill the stool.
"The Edun Oyeshiku Family in a meeting presided over by the Head of the family on December 13, 2018, appointed Alfa Naheem Akinola Oladotun to be new Chief Imam in the community.
"But in the bid of formenting trouble, Mr Balogun invited Abeokuta Chief Imam to the community to installed him as the Chief Imam on January 20, 2020, making two Chief Imams in a town after the said impositor been crowned by the Egba league of imams.
According to Kabiyesi Onilogbo, Edun Oyeshiku family has presented Alfa Naheem Akinola Oladotun to him as the family's choice candidate for the position on October 12, 2019 and he has installed him as the Chief Imam.
Oba Ojugbele, therefore, urged the general public and Ogun State league of Imams not to recognise Mr Balogun as the authentic Chief Imam of Ilogbo.
The Kabiyesi equally advised impositor to desist from using the title of Ilogbo Chief Imam, otherwise, he will put on trial.
The monarch also made it known to the public that any person(s) or group of persons who found relating with this impostor on any ground as touching the aforementioned title does so in his or her own peril.
